What we do

The Art Teachers Connect programme aims to provide you with a wider community of art and art history teachers to exchange, encourage and energise you. This is further supported by connecting you with a wider community of art and art history teachers to exchange thoughts and encouragement with.

Our offer includes: a free three-day residential programme in Leeds, online CPD sessions across the year, and a Postgraduate Certificate in ‘Developing Teachers’ Research and Practice’.

A shared ambition

We developed this programme in response to the inequality of access to the arts and creative subjects in schools across the UK, and the way many secondary art teachers feel isolated and undervalued. Our hope is that through providing subject-specific learning opportunities and access to a network of support and care, we can help you and your students to feel inspired, energised and cared for.

In order to become part of the Art Teachers Connect community you are invited to apply to our next residential programme. After you’ve attended this, you will be invited to attend our CPD sessions and consider taking our Postgraduate Certificate.

Whatever your journey, there are a myriad of opportunities and a community of support waiting for you!

How wonderful to be surrounded by 30 or so other oddball artist teacher creatures. The overall energy and creativity oozing from the building and its inhabitants gave me an overall sense of belonging and a meaning to my role, myself and my position in the present. All teachers do amazing jobs, but wow to be immersed in 3 days of art making and thinking with like-minded (and abstract minded) art teaching individuals was moving, invigorating and so purposeful.
