The Art History in Schools resources were written by A-Level Art History teachers both to support the global art history syllabus designed by Sarah Phillips, and to compliment Penny Huntsman’s book ‘Thinking about Art’. They focus on works from the A Level themes of Art & Nature, Art & Identity and Art & War.
The charity Art History in Schools (AHiS) was founded in 2015 to expand access to art historical skills, visual analysis and critical approaches within state sector education. It ran annual teacher-training sessions and conferences in schools, museums and galleries. A decade on, with art history growing once again, AHiS has wound down and transferred all resources to Art Teachers Connect as the best means of supporting teachers.
